Healing Herbs
Botanical "derived from a plant." Many botanicals have extra medicinal powers to heal.
Lavender is my favorite herb. Such a beautiful, relaxing plant and it has hundreds of uses.
Benefits of Lavender
It has been thought for centuries to enflame passions as an aphrodisiac, and is still one of the most recognized scents in the world. Lavender is great for insomnia, nervous stomach, and anxiety.
Use of lavender essential oil is often recommended for muscle pain or aches and to promote restful sleep. I diffuse 10-15 drops per night, for a sleep potion.
Uses for Lavender
As a dried herb to make a relaxing herbal tea.
Adding the dried herb to homemade sleep masks to promote relaxing sleep.
Adding a few drops of the essential oil and a cup of epsom salts to a bath helps relax sore muscles.
Dried flowers into small satchels and use them in place of dryer sheets.
For headaches, smelling lavender and peppermint oils or rubbing into into the temples and/or feet often helps.
The essential oil rubbed on the abdomen for stomach and pelvis pain.
The essential oil can be used to make homemade lotion bars, whipped body butter and more. Also can be used topically to help with acne or skin irritations.
Simmering dried lavender herb in a pot of water with some citrus peels for a natural air freshener.
Ginkgo helps fight fatigue, increase stamina, and increase energy levels. Also has been proven to fight depression and help with vertigo. In Ancient Greece, Thyme was commonly added to bathwater. Thyme flowers, leaves, and oil of thyme are commonly used by people for relief of stomach ache and arthritis.
